Are you married? Do you regret getting married? Well, I can honestly say, I don’ t regret marriage but what I do regret is not accomplishing some things before marriage. that I believe should have been accomplished. For instances, I went to College but I didn’t finish, and even though I had a job before getting married, I wasn’t saving money. I didn’t start saving money until I got engaged. Listen, it’s important to save money not only for a wedding but in general. Also, I am known for sometimes wearing these two labels, Procrastinator and Fear. I don’t wear these labels proudly. I despise these labels because they annoy me, paralyze me, and stops me from fully living the life God wants me to live. The bible says,“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. -2 Timothy 1:7. My labels (procrastination and fear) are on the altar and I’m executing my accomplishments one day at a time. Scriptures says, “ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. -Philippians 4:13. Amen!
Furthermore, I’m not a Marriage Counselor, but I believe some married couples don’t regret marriage, they regret not accomplishing somethings before marriage. When you get married you make sacrifices, you compromise, you have to be selfless and consider your Spouse needs and desires and not just your own. My advice, please accomplish some goals before Marriage. It helps to bring to the marriage table more than looks, a healthy body and just being spiritual. Marriage is work and all you’re doing in your singleness, can possibly affect your future self and marriage.
In closing, I don’t regret being married. I married my best friend and I would do it all over again. I only regret not accomplishing some goals before marriage, because I see how it has made marriage even more challenging. I’m not saying marriage won’t be challenging if you’re accomplished but it’s still a good idea and beneficial to be accomplished. I respect, admire and applaud, every single person, that’s focused on being a follower of Jesus but also achieving some goals and dreams that’s going to be helpful and beneficial to their future.
