Persecuted for being VEGAN!

Are you vegan? Are you a Christian? I remember just recently hearing a sermon from a Pastor I was watching on YouTube and he was stating why we’re suppose to eat meat and most of the sermon, was just his opinions and some of the facts he gave weren’t true at all. I’m a Christian myself, and I’m not judging the Pastor, but from what I heard, the Pastor didn’t have the right facts about being a vegan. One of the things the Pastor stated, was that a nursing mother have to drink cow’s milk in order to produce milk for her baby. When I heard this, I said I have to look into that because I have never heard such a thing. I found an article online from https://aeroflowinc.com and like I suspected, it doesn’t state you need milk to produce milk. The article is titled, “Foods that help produce your breast milk supply” Here’s a list of the six foods listed.

  • Oatmeal
  • Spinach
  • Garlic
  • Brewer’s Yeast
  • Fenugreek (a herb that looks like a clover, which is native to the Mediterranean region, southern Europe, and western Asia. The seeds are used in cooking, to make medicine, or to hide the taste of other medicine also, Fenugreek  leaves are eaten in India as vegetable)
  • Apricots

I am learning that you have to study, research and not believe everything you hear, even when it comes to a sermon unfortunately. Are we following opinions or facts, are we following a lie or the truth? When I decided my vegan journey, I didn’t start it because I thought eating meat was a sin. I’m just being honest. I started because of the great benefits that comes along with being vegan and because it helps save animals. If eating meat is a sin, I didn’t get that revelation. I need to study up on that. Sometimes we touch on things we haven’t study or research.

The bible says, “The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.” – Romans 14:3

Contempt: noun.

feeling that a person or a thing is beneath consideration, worthless, or deserving scorn.

This scripture helps me not to  judge meat eaters, just like meat eaters shouldn’t judge vegans. A vegan lifestyle is a choice but many are making it a spiritual matter. No matter what we choose to eat, God does want us to take care of our bodies.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” -3 John 1:2

In closing, we have to be careful that no matter what platform we have, that we’re giving the right facts to people we’re trying to help, motivate and inspire.
